Bata bem os ovos com o açúcar e manteiga. Em seguida, misture o leite e o sal. Em seguida, acrescente o fermento dissolvido em um pouco de água. 

Beat the eggs well with the sugar and butter. Then mix the milk and salt. Then add the yeast dissolved in a little water.

Comece acrescentando a farinha aos poucos, misturando com uma colher. Após ter misturado 1/2 da farinha, acrescente o polvilho (opcional) e volte a acrescentar a outra metade da farinha aos poucos. Qndo começar a sentir a massa mais dura, comece a amassar com as mãos até o ponto de enrolar os biscoitos. 

Start adding the flour little by little, mixing with a spoon. After mixing 1/2 of the flour, add the sprinkle (optional) and add the other half of the flour again little by little. When you start to feel the dough harder, start kneading with your hands until the point of rolling the cookies.

Molde os biscoitos em palitos de 1 ou 1,5 cm de diâmetro aproximadamente (eles crescem bastante após fritura). Frite em óleo pré aquecido até que fiquem dourados dos dois lados. (Óleo frio deixará os biscoitos encharcados e com óleo muito quente eles ficarão crus). 

Shape the cookies into sticks approximately 1 or 1.5 cm in diameter (they grow a lot after frying). Fry in preheated oil until golden on both sides. (Cold oil will make the cookies soggy and too hot oil will make them uncooked).

Escorra os biscoitos em papel toalha. Salpique canela a gosto (opcional) e sirva após esfriarem. 

Drain the cookies on paper towels. Sprinkle with cinnamon to taste (optional) and serve after cooling.
