  • Margarine200 g
  • Sugar2 cup
  • Egg2 unit(s)
  • Vanilla essence30 ml
  • Wheat flour2 cup
  • Sodium bicarbonate1 teaspoon
  • Dates (chopped)2 cup
  • Nuts (chopped)2 cup
  • Boiling water1 cup
  • Chemical yeast1 tablespoon
  1. In the mixer add the margarine and sugar, beat until it forms a white cream.
  2. Then add the egg yolks and beat more. Now add the vanilla and sifted wheat flour and yeast.
  3. Dissolve the bicarbonate in boiling water and add it to the chopped dates, this process is to hydrate the dates. Leave for 10 minutes in the water.
  4. After 10 minutes, add the dates and walnuts to the dough. Stir just to mix.
  5. Beat the egg whites and gently mix them into the cake batter, moving from top to bottom to incorporate air into the batter.
  6. Grease a loaf pan or any other pan of your choice and bake at 180° for about 35 minutes, it will depend on your oven.
  7. Use your creativity and care when presenting this cake. Choose a pretty dish and decorate it however you prefer.
