- Margarine200 g
- Sugar2 cup

- Vanilla essence30 ml
- Wheat flour2 cup
- Sodium bicarbonate1 teaspoon
- Dates (chopped)2 cup
- Nuts (chopped)2 cup
- Boiling water1 cup
- Chemical yeast1 tablespoon
- In the mixer add the margarine and sugar, beat until it forms a white cream.
- Then add the egg yolks and beat more. Now add the vanilla and sifted wheat flour and yeast.
- Dissolve the bicarbonate in boiling water and add it to the chopped dates, this process is to hydrate the dates. Leave for 10 minutes in the water.
- After 10 minutes, add the dates and walnuts to the dough. Stir just to mix.
- Beat the egg whites and gently mix them into the cake batter, moving from top to bottom to incorporate air into the batter.
- Grease a loaf pan or any other pan of your choice and bake at 180° for about 35 minutes, it will depend on your oven.
