- In a bowl mix the cornmeal with the salt.
- Mix well.
- Then add water little by little, and mix with your hands.
- Tip: the exact amount of water depends on each flour and can change from brand to brand, so the ideal point is when you knead the dough with your hands and it doesn't fall apart.
- Don't let it soak.
- Then cover this bowl with a cloth and let it rest for 20 minutes.
- After this time, stir again, so that it is well salted.
- Put water in the couscous pan (only half of the water compartment).
- Then, place the steamer drain in the couscous pan and transfer the mixture to the couscous pan.
- Cover and cook over medium heat for about 15 minutes or until the couscous is firm.
- Turn off the heat, remove the couscous from the couscous and serve with butter and a cup of coffee.
