  • Wheat flour2 cup
  • Salt1 coffee spoon
  • Butter4 tablespoon
  • Warm water1/2 cup
  • Stuffing to taste
  1. In a bowl, place the flour, salt and butter. Mix with your fingertips until it turns into crumbs.
  2. Add the warm water and mix well until it becomes a smooth dough. Wrap in plastic and leave in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  3. Prepare whatever filling you want. I used braised beef! But you can use cold cuts, hearts of palm, chicken with curd, escarole with ricotta, broccoli...whatever you want or have in the fridge.
  4. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin on a floured bench.
  5. With the help of a bowl measuring about 10 cm, cut discs and place 2 tablespoons of stuffing on the bottom of the disc, leaving an edge to close the empanada.
  6. Moisten the edge of the dough with water and close, forming a half moon. Fold the edges to finish. Place the empanadas on a greased and floured tray.
  7. Brush the empanadas with egg yolk and bake until golden!
