- Recipe
- Tilapia fillet1 kg
- Tahiti or Sicilian lemon1 unit(s)
- Garlic Powder1 teaspoon
- Wheat flour1 cup
- Cornmeal1 cup
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Soybean oil (for frying)1 l
- In a bowl or bowl, season the fillets with lemon, garlic powder (or 2 well-crushed garlic cloves), salt and pepper to taste. Let it rest for at least 2 hours to get flavor. Mix the wheat flour with the cornmeal and also season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Now coat the fish fillets in this mixture. Fry in oil at 180 - 190 degrees, until golden. (Be careful not to fry for too long and leave these fillets dry). Remove with the help of a slotted spoon and place on a plate with a paper towel to remove excess oil. Place on a pretty platter, sprinkle with chopped chives and add some lemons for garnish.
- Tip: Don't do it with frozen fish. It doesn't get flavor and doesn't fry inside. If the fillets are too thin, fry just enough to brown. Be careful not to over-fry and dehydrate the fish, no one likes a dry fillet.

Tilapia is a food rich in vitamin D, in addition to having rich proteins for our body! The fats present in its composition are very few and it has several nutrients that are essential for us. If you are looking for a healthier diet, include tilapia without fear, even if it is fried.
As seen in Chef Wilson Nunes' recipe, there are ways to prepare fried breaded tilapia without leaving it with that "soaked in fat" aspect.
More than the benefits already mentioned, tilapia minimizes bad cholesterol in the arteries, if present, it is recommended if you are on a diet, helps our digestive system and improves metabolism activity. Another very important fact is that tilapia helps with something quite concerning: anemia.
Everything in excess can be harmful, therefore, by controlling the fat you consume and following the recipe you just learned, do not deprive yourself of eating this fish adored by all of Brazil and also put into practice your masterchef side and prepare it for everyone you love.
