Comecei deixando o feijão de molho por 30 minutos. Escorri a água, numa panela coloquei o azeite e refoguei o alho e cebola, adicionei o feijão e os temperos, refoguei junto.

I started by soaking the beans for 30 minutes. I drained the water, put the oil in a pan and sautéed the garlic and onion, added the beans and seasonings, sautéed together.

Acrescentei água o suficiente para cobrir todo o feijão e tampei a panela, deixei cozinhar por 20 minutos, descasquei a cenoura e cortei em tirinhas finas, juntei com o feijão e cozinhei por mais 10 minutos, desliguei o fogo e finalizei com coentro e cebolinha.

I added enough water to cover all the beans and covered the pan, let it cook for 20 minutes, peeled the carrot and cut it into thin strips, added it to the beans and cooked for another 10 minutes, turned off the heat and finished with cilantro and chives.
