  • Rice200 g
  • Water1 l

  • Garlic Clove4 unit(s)

  • Carrots, peeled and cut into three parts1 unit(s)
  • Olive oil1/2 cup
  • Oil1 cup
  • Zaatar1 dessert spoon
  • Wheat flour3 tablespoon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  1. Peel an onion and insert cloves into it. In a large pot, bring the water to a boil. Add the carrot, bay leaf, onion and a teaspoon of salt. When the water boils, add the lentils. Cook for 15 to 20 minutes. The beans should be cooked, but firm and whole. When the lentils are done, drain and reserve the cooking water. Discard the carrot, onion and bay leaf. In a pan, sauté 1 minced garlic clove with two teaspoons of olive oil for 2 minutes. Add the rice and sauté over medium heat for 5 minutes. Add 600ml of the lentil cooking water and season with salt to taste. Let the rice cook on low heat until all the water is gone. Cut an onion into thin slices. Dry the slices with a dish towel and pass in the wheat flour. Take a skillet over medium heat with the oil. When the oil is very hot, fry the onion, drain and reserve. In a pan, sauté two cloves of minced garlic with two tablespoons of olive oil. When the garlic is golden, turn off the heat and add the lentils. Gently mix. Add the zaatar and rice. Check salt and pepper. Before serving, drizzle a drizzle of olive oil. Serve with onions over rice. Good appetite 😋😋
