  • Canned tomatoes1 unit(s)
  • Garlic cloves3 unit(s)
  • Olive oil to taste
  • Onion1 unit(s)
  • Basil to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  1. Chop the garlic and onion, reserve
  2. In a large pan, heat up about 2 tbsp of olive oil and fry chopped onions until they start to look transparent
  3. Add the chopped garlic, mix and fry until almost golden
  4. Add the canned tomatoes and use a masher to mash them into a chunky paste
  5. Stir and let it fry a bit
  6. Fill the empty tomato can with water and add to pan
  7. Add salt and pepper to taste
  8. Let it simmer in slow heat for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring from time to time
  9. When done, add chopped basil, put the lid on and turn off the heat.
  10. Let it sit for 5 minutes before serving.
