  • Common cucumber (large)2 unit(s)
  • Chopped Onion1 cup
  • White Vinegar1/2 cup
  • Refined sugar3/4 cup
  • Salt1 tablespoon
  • Turmeric1/2 coffee spoon
  • Mustard Grain1 teaspoon
  • Baking soda1/2 coffee spoon
  1. Wash the cucumbers well as we will keep the skins. Cut them in half and remove the seeds. Drain the cucumbers down the drain and in a bowl mix the cucumbers, chopped onion and salt. Transfer to a sieve and let it rest for 1 hour to lose all liquid.
  2. Place the sieve ingredients in a pan and add the remaining ingredients. Let it boil for 12 minutes.
  3. Transfer to a sterilized glass, cover and once cool, store in the fridge for at least 24 hours before consuming.
