Lave bem as batatas e cozinhe-as em água salgada por 20 minutos ou até estarem macias. 

Wash the potatoes well and cook them in salted water for 20 minutes or until they are tender.

Retire da panela e enquanto ainda estão quentes com a ajuda de um pano amasse-as uma a uma delicadamente com a palma da mão sem quebrá-las. 

Remove from the pan and while they are still hot with the help of a cloth, knead them one by one gently with the palm of your hand without breaking them.

Em uma frigideira aquecida em fogo baixo adicione duas colheres de sopa de azeite e metade da manteiga 

In a skillet heated on low heat, add two tablespoons of oil and half of the butter.

Adicione as batatas e doure-as lentamente. A paciência é o segredo do sucesso desta delícia. Vire de vez em quando para ir dourando por igual e conforme a frigideira for secando adicione mais um pouco de azeite e manteiga. O resultado são batatas com a casca super crocante e o centro cremoso. Use-as para acompanhar uma carne, peixe, ou mesmo puras como aperitivo. Divirta-se!

Add the potatoes and brown them slowly. Patience is the secret to the success of this delight. Turn occasionally to brown evenly and as the skillet dries add a little more oil and butter. The result is potatoes with a super crispy skin and creamy center. Use them to accompany meat, fish, or even as an aperitif. Have a good time!
