- Peel the squash and cut into cubes, transfer to a pan, transfer the sugar, cloves and cinnamon, cook on medium low heat for 40 minutes. There is no need for water, the sugar melts and gives a broth in which the pumpkin will cook. Let it cool down and put it in a glass jar, take it to freeze, it's a perfect combination to serve with cheese, cream cheese or cream.
