- pumpkin, peeled and cut into medium pieces | 1 kg
- sugar tea | 2 cup
- cinnamon stick | 1 unit(s)
- cloves | 3 unit(s)
- Fresh or dried grated coconut | to taste
- In a large pot, place the pumpkin, sugar, cinnamon and cloves.
Bring to a simmer over low heat with the lid on.
Stir constantly and knead with a wooden spoon to break up the pumpkin. When it is well cooked, remove the cinnamon and cloves, and add the coconut.
Let it boil a little longer and turn off the heat.
The candy cannot be dry, it has to be very moist.
