- Place the milk and sugar in a large, wide-bottomed saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon, until boiling (about 15 minutes). Reduce the heat and continue stirring until you get a light brown candy with a creamy consistency (about 45 minutes). Transfer the candy to a refractory, let it cool well and serve spoonfuls on dessert plates with slices of white cheese.
