- Heat the oil in a large nonstick pan. Coat each cube of tofu in the cornstarch, then transfer them to the pan and fry for about 8 to 10 minutes, until golden brown and crispy on all sides. Then add the tamari and continue turning the tofu until the cubes are coated in the sauce.
