Comece refogando a carne em uma panela bem quente com a manteiga, quando tudo estiver cozido, acrescente a cebola, alho, sal e pimenta, refogue por 2 minutos e jogue 1 xícara de água.

Start by sautéing the meat in a very hot pan with the butter, when everything is cooked, add the onion, garlic, salt and pepper, sauté for 2 minutes and add 1 cup of water.

Deixe ferver até a água diminuir pela metade em fogo baixo, acrescente a segunda xícara de água e a batata amassada.

Let it boil until the water decreases by half over low heat, add the second cup of water and the mashed potato.

Assim que começar a ferver novamente, jogue toda a farinha de uma só vez e mexa até a massa descolar do fundo da panela e fazer com que desapareça os grumos (isso deve acontecer entre 3 a 5 minutos). Agora pode desligar o fogo. 

As soon as it starts to boil again, add all the flour at once and stir until the dough lifts off the bottom of the pan and makes the lumps disappear (this should happen between 3 to 5 minutes). Now you can turn off the fire.

Mexa de vez em quando com uma colher para a massa para não formar película e esfriar mais rápido. Assim que já der pra tocar na massa, dê uma rápida sovada até a massa ficar lisa e brilhante.
