- well-cured Minas cheese, finely grated300 g
- Eggs (sifted yolks)4 unit(s)
- sugar1.2 kg
- liters of water1.2 l
- cloves3 unit(s)
- Knead the cheese with the yolks until obtaining a uniform mixture. With a teaspoon, remove portions of the dough and form small balls with your hands (they must be compact, but avoid pressing them too much so they don't crack).
- In a very large pan, add the water and sugar and stir until dissolved, bring to a medium heat, add the cloves and let it boil until it forms a medium syrup.
- Add the cheese balls and cook for about 4-5 minutes (turn gently halfway through)
- Allow to cool and transfer to a bowl. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
