  • Breadcrumbs1/2 cup
  • Onion1 unit(s)
  • Garlic2 unit(s)
  • Tomato1 unit(s)
  • Green Scent (parsley, chives) to taste
  • Eggs3 unit(s)
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Olive oil to taste
  1. If the cod is salty, place it in a bowl with plenty of water. Change the water in the bowl every 1 hour for 5 hours.
  2. Peel the potatoes, cut them into medium pieces and place in a pan with water. Take it to high heat.
  3. When it boils, mark 15 minutes and then turn off the heat (the potatoes should be very soft). Transfer the potatoes to a large plate. Let it rest for 5 minutes for the excess water to evaporate.
  4. Remove the cod from the bowl and place in the same pan (potatoes) and place over high heat. When it boils, let it cook for 5 minutes and turn off the heat. Transfer the cod to a plate and let it cool.
  5. While the cod is cooling, pass the potatoes through the ricer, or break up with a wooden spoon, to form a puree.
  6. When the cod is cool, shred it with your hands. Put a pan on the fire, add the oil and let it heat up. Then add the onion and garlic. Saute for 4 minutes, stirring constantly.
  7. Place the shredded cod in the pan and mix very well. Let it cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Turn off the heat and let cool.
  8. In a container, mix the cod with the potato, eggs and breadcrumbs very well. Season with salt, pepper and the green smell.
  9. With your hands, make balls with the cod dough the size you want. Put some dumplings to fry.
  10. When the dumplings are golden brown, carefully remove them from the pan with a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with paper towels. Serve hot.
