  • Refined sugar (for the dough)1/2 cup
  • Organic Dry Yeast - 1 sachet (for the dough)12 g
  • Whole milk (for the dough)1.1/4 cup
  • Egg (for the dough)1 unit(s)
  • Butter without salt at room temperature (for the dough)2 tablespoon
  • Butter without salt (for the filling)1 cup
  • Condensed milk (for the filling)1/3 cup
  • Grated coconut (for the filling)1.1/2 cup
  • Coconut Milk (for the filling)50 ml
  • Condensed milk (for the syrup)1 cup
  • Coconut Milk (for the filling)1/2 cup
  • grated coconut1 cup
  1. In a mixing bowl, add the Flour, sugar and yeast, mix with a spatula to combine the dry ingredients.
  2. Then add the egg and milk, beat in the mixer (with hook) for 2 min. to mix. Add the butter and let it beat for 3 minutes. (If you don't have a mixer, knead by hand for about 10 to 15 minutes until the dough is very elastic.)
  3. Let it rest for 1 hour, in a warm place, inside a bowl sprinkled with flour and covered with a damp cloth until it doubles in size.
  4. On a bench dusted with flour, roll out the dough with the help of a rolling pin. The dough should be 1 cm. thick at the end.
  5. In a bowl, place the butter at room temperature, the condensed milk and the grated coconut. Mix well and set aside.
  6. Spread the filling along the entire length of the open dough with the help of a spatula, leaving an unfilled edge about a finger wide.
  7. Roll up like a swiss roll, without squeezing too much.
  8. Using a serrated knife, cut the dough into 6cm rolls. width.
  9. On a baking sheet, place the rolls next to each other with a space of about 3 cm. between them. Let it rest for 10 to 15 minutes covered with a damp cloth. (The buns will rise and stick together. Don't worry.)
  10. Bake the rolls for 30 minutes, or until golden brown, in a preheated oven at 200°C.
  11. Mix condensed milk and coconut milk in a bowl to form a syrup.
  12. As soon as you remove the buns from the oven, while they are still hot, cover the buns with the syrup and sprinkle the grated coconut.
