Discover the origin of Tartar recipes!

Tartar is a dish known in several places in Brazil, it has an intense flavor and at the same time refreshing, even a little “chic” in the eyes of many chefs and cooks. Tuna tartare with mustard and tuna tartare with avocado (avocado) are one of the ways to prepare this raw protein, which is chopped very finely and delicately.

There is also steak tartare, another name for this dish that has French origins and is adopted in Brazilian cuisine. Even with more than one way of being prepared, with regard to the ingredients that will be used as an accompaniment, some processes are the basis of this dish and cannot be dispensed with, such as the mixture made at the beginning of the avocado tartar recipe here on this page . A curiosity is that both beef, tuna, white fish, salmon, can be proteins used in tartar.

Stories tell that tartar is a dish created thousands of years ago and that its name is linked to the word tartar, which has Latin origin. As the recipe changed over time, people in the West began to consume tartare frequently and insert seasonings between the ingredients. There is also talk about the Mongolian people having a strong connection with the origin and creation of tartare, but there is no real proof that this is really true and that they consumed raw meat.
