Get to know a little about the origin of the stroganoff recipe!
If you have a versatile recipe that most people love, it's definitely stroganoff! We usually find this dish written in both ways and regardless of how you make it, the fact is that it is a good choice for both lunch and dinner and its preparation is super practical!
Despite being much prepared and loved by Brazilians, stroganoff has its origins in Russia and the original recipe has beef in cubes as the main ingredient. Many other countries learned about the recipe and created versions for it, and of course, Brazil was no different!
In addition to beef stroganoff, which we also prepare here, one of the most famous is chicken stroganoff. It can be chopped into small cubes or prepared with shredded chicken, served with rice and straw potatoes. Foods such as olives, green corn, hearts of palm and mushrooms are very present in our stroganoff.
There are some reports that tell about this dish being created by a French chef years ago in a cooking competition, but the most acceptable and most talked about version remains about its Russian origin. Despite this, it is said that France is where stroganoff with mushrooms and champignons appeared.
As shown in the recipe above, stroganoff did not stop at beef or chicken, existing with seafood such as shrimp as the main ingredient and you can find vegetarian and vegan options for this meal.
