- In a large pot or pan, sauté the onion and garlic in a little oil or olive oil until golden.
- Add plenty of water (about 5 liters) and the other ingredients, except for the crabs, and bring to a boil.
- In the meantime, clean the crabs with a brush and plenty of running water.
- Pour them alive into the pot of boiling water and let them cook for 5 to 10 minutes or until they are tender (try a little paw).
- Serve with rice and pirão.
