Chayote and Carrot Salad

- chayote1 unit(s)
- medium carrot1 unit(s)
- Onion1/2 unit(s)
- Garlic2 unit(s)
- Oregano1 to taste
- Salt1 to taste
- Butter or margarine1 tablespoon
- Water300 ml
- Vinegar1 teaspoon
- Peel the carrot and cut into medium slices, put it to cook in salted water for 5 minutes.
- Peel the chayote and cut into medium cubes, put it to cook together with the carrot for another 3 minutes
- Drain and reserve.
- Cut the onion into thin half moons, also cut the garlic into very finely chopped cubes
- In a pan put the butter, let it melt, put the onion and fry for 3 minutes, add the garlic and let it fry for another 2 minutes
- Add the vegetables, stir well, adjust the salt, add the vinegar and the oregano
- Ready, put in a container and serve, hot or cold.
