Burger Bread with Turmeric

- Wheat flour3 cup
- Whole wheat flour1/2 cup
- Butter at room temperature2 tablespoon
- Egg1 unit(s)
- Organic Dry Yeast1 tablespoon
- Brown Sugar1 tablespoon
- Warm water1 cup
- Turmeric Powder1 teaspoon
- Salt2 teaspoon
- In a bowl put the warm water, butter, sugar, yeast, egg, turmeric and mix everything.
- Gradually add the flour using a sieve while stirring in circular motions with a spoon.
- When you get a heavier dough, add the salt, remove from the bowl and knead (kneading, stretching and folding) on a floured surface (just enough flour not to stick) until you get a smooth and homogeneous dough. Make a ball, sprinkle flour over it and place in the covered bowl to rest for two hours.
- After resting the dough should have doubled in size. Remove from the bowl, divide into eight equal parts (can be 10 for a slightly smaller loaf), form balls by folding the edges of the dough inwards, turn these folds over and roll them up against the surface with your hand.
- Distribute the balls in a greased shape and let it rest for between one and two hours (depends on the local temperature)
- Bake over high heat for 18 minutes or until golden. You will have a nice hamburger bun but it works well with whatever filling you prefer.
