- Honey (or molasses)1 cup
- Whole wheat flour2.5 cup
- Cocoa powder1.5 tablespoon
- Cinnamon powder1 teaspoon
- Ginger Powder1 coffee spoon
- Nutmeg to taste
- Baking powder1 teaspoon
- Baking soda1 teaspoon
- Dark chocolate1 cup
- Start by soaking the cloves in water, before separating all the ingredients.
- Mix the flour, cocoa, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg. Then add the water (discard the cloves) and honey. Mix well until it becomes a homogeneous mixture.
- Add the yeast and bicarbonate of soda and stir just to incorporate.
- Take the dough to a greased shape with oil (or butter) and cocoa (or flour) and take it to the oven preheated to 200° for 25 minutes.
- Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for 30 minutes. Melt the chocolate in the microwave every 20 seconds, stirring between them. When it's melted, put it on top of the cake and leave it in the fridge for at least 20 minutes before eating!
