  • Wheat Flour400 g
  • Milk (if using 00 flour use +-40g)240 g
  • Butter60 g
  • Brown Sugar60 g
  • Dry yeast5 g
  • Salt6 g
  • Bath: warm water 50°C1 l
  • Bath: baking soda1/2 cup
  1. Mix flour, sugar, yeast and salt - add milk and softened butter
  2. Mix until you form a dough and beat by hand or in a mixer until you get a smooth dough.
  3. Let it ferment until it doubles in size.
  4. Divide the dough into ~80g pieces and form cylinders - let rest for 20min
  5. Roll until you form cylinders with the ends thinner than the middle.
  6. Form a half-sphere and fold the ends over each other 3x, taking the end to the base to form a heart
  7. Soak in the bathing solution for 5 seconds and dry the underside on a towel.
  8. Bake in a greased baking dish for 12 min at 230°C
  9. Brush with butter as soon as they come out of the oven.
  10. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar or other topping
