- Wheat Flour400 g
- Milk (if using 00 flour use +-40g)240 g
- Butter60 g
- Brown Sugar60 g
- Dry yeast5 g
- Salt6 g
- Bath: warm water 50°C1 l
- Bath: baking soda1/2 cup
- Mix flour, sugar, yeast and salt - add milk and softened butter
- Mix until you form a dough and beat by hand or in a mixer until you get a smooth dough.
- Let it ferment until it doubles in size.
- Divide the dough into ~80g pieces and form cylinders - let rest for 20min
- Roll until you form cylinders with the ends thinner than the middle.
- Form a half-sphere and fold the ends over each other 3x, taking the end to the base to form a heart
- Soak in the bathing solution for 5 seconds and dry the underside on a towel.
- Bake in a greased baking dish for 12 min at 230°C
- Brush with butter as soon as they come out of the oven.
- Sprinkle cinnamon sugar or other topping
