- Recipe
- Pears (Firms)4 unit(s)
- White wine400 ml
- Refined sugar160 g
- Sicilian lemon juice2 tablespoon
- Cinnamon stick1 unit(s)
- Clove of India3 unit(s)
- Mint (For garnish) to taste
- Cream ice cream1 l
- Wash the pears, keep the stem and peel them. Now cut the pear in half doing the same with the stem. (This is the slightly more difficult part).
- In a pan add the white wine, sugar, lemon juice (it can also be Tahiti lemon), cloves and cinnamon. Mix well and bring to a boil.
- As soon as it boils add the pears and add a little water to cover them. Keep the heat on high until it comes to a boil again, then lower the heat and cook the pears in a semi-covered pan for approximately 15 minutes. (They should be cooked through, but not mushy. Check by inserting the tip of a knife).
- Remove the pears from the liquid, place them in another container and set aside. Increase the heat and let the liquid in the pan boil until it reaches the consistency of syrup.
- To serve: Place a scoop of ice cream, the pear resting on that ball, a little of the syrup on top of the pear and the mint leaves to decorate. I usually also put a sweet farofa or crushed cookies to have a crunchy side.
