- Recipe
- Sugar500 g
- Water250 ml
- White Apple Vinegar or Alcohol1 tablespoon
- Red powder dye1 tablespoon
- Ice Cream Sticks5 unit(s)
- Apples5 unit(s)
- Preparation mode: Before starting, you must wash the apples well and insert the toothpick into them, in the part of the apple stem. Reserve.
- In a pan (preferably with a thick bottom), place the sugar, water, coloring powder and vinegar. Gently mix and then place over low heat. From now on DO NOT MIX! not to sugar. Leave it on the fire for about 15 to 20 minutes. From the first 15 minutes, you should test the point of the syrup. If you have a culinary thermometer, the syrup will be at the right point when it reaches a temperature of 145ºC. If you don't have a thermomanometer at home, the method of knowing the ideal point is to take a little bit of the syrup and drip a drop on a smooth plate, then take this ball and throw it on the plate again, if it makes the glass noise it's because it's on point.
- Another way to test the consistency of the syrup is to pour a drop of the syrup into a cup of room temperature water. It will form a ball and you should take this ball and throw it into an empty glass, if it makes a little noise in the glass because it is ready.
- When the syrup is at the right point, remove it from the heat and let it cool for 30 seconds. Then bathe the apples holding them by the toothpick.
- TIP: This process should be quick as the syrup will harden quickly. Place the apples on a smooth surface greased with butter. Let it dry well and then wrap the apples in cellophane
