  • Vanilla Extract1 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice1 teaspoon
  • Cinnamon powder1 teaspoon
  • Sugar (optional)1 teaspoon
  • Peeled, pitted and sliced apples5 unit(s)
  • Cinnamon powder1/2 teaspoon
  • For the crust, wheat flour3 cup
  • Vanilla Extract1 teaspoon
  • Package of unsalted butter (must be removed from the fridge 2 or 3 hours before to get soft)1 unit(s)
  1. In a saucepan, add the grated apples, vanilla extract and sugar, lemon juice, over low heat, bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly. As soon as it starts to boil add the cinnamon powder and keep on low heat for 3 to 5 minutes or until it becomes like a compote.
  2. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. In a large bowl, add the flower, vanilla extract, butter and continue mixing the flour with the butter by hand until a dough forms. Refrigerate the dough for 1 hour.
  3. Place the dough in a non-stick frying pan, in a round shape and with a removable bottom (sizes 10 to 11). Spread the dough on the baking sheet and continue pressing until smooth. Pierce the bottom of the pan in several places with a fork so that the air escapes when cooking. Place the pan in the oven and bake for 15 minutes.
  4. Remove the semi-baked crust from the oven and spread the apple filling on top of it, then place the apple slices on top of the filling, sprinkle with the cinnamon powder and return to the oven for 15 minutes or until the apples are soft.
  5. Tip: after cooling, mix a little water with a little apricot jam and brush over the apples to get a nice shine.
